It has not been very cold here lately, we got one hard freeze, where our pond froze totally over and all the outside spigots froze. And we got a little bit of snow on December 1st, but so far December and January have been pretty mild.
Pets
On December 3rd we added a new pup to the pack, meet Pumpkin, she is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She is now 10 weeks old and has almost tripled in size since we got her! Zelie and Dakota were a bit scared of her at first, but now they seem to be doing pretty good together! Ollie is still just the boss, keeping everyone in order.
We also have a video on Pumpkin on our website if you would like to watch https://www.longcreekfarm.net/farmvideos
The Guinea pigs have been staying in the garage when it is cold, but they do go outside when the weather is nice! We recently had to bring them in the house for a while because the heat lamp we were using to heat the garage burnt out, but now they are back out in the garage. They can get a bit messy in the house, with all their hay!
Goats
We should be having the first kids of the year born from Nutmeg and Philly on March 1st.
The rest of the kids should be born sometime in April, and milking should start up again a couple weeks after the kids are born.
If you would like to purchase raw goat milk, click here.

We are still having a problem with giving them hay, the bossy goats (Nutmeg^^ is one of them!) are really keeping the other ones away from the hay, so we are having to spread the hay out in a lot of different places.

Chickens and Ducks
The Chickens still are not laying many eggs; we have about 50 chickens and are only getting a dozen or so eggs a day. We had to put cardboard up on the open side of their coops when it got really cold, to keep the wind out.

The ducks are laying pretty consistently, we are getting an egg from each of them almost every day!
